PRINCIPLE 7: THE PRINCIPLE OF POTENTIAL REALIZATIONS

The Ancient Symbol: Nehushtan

The future is neither completely predetermined nor infinitely open. Existence unfolds through a structured field of possibilities, and conscious life participates in determining which of them become lived reality.

A spiral returns toward what it has already encountered, yet it never returns to exactly the same point.

That is why the Golden Spiral becomes, within Neoessential Integralism, the symbol not merely of time, but of becoming.

A circle repeats.

A straight line abandons what lies behind.

A spiral does something different.

It carries the past forward while creating a new position from which that past can be encountered.

This is the structure of transformation.

What returns is not necessarily destiny. It may be possibility asking for a different realization.

The Field of Potential Realizations

At every moment, more than one future may be possible.

But not every future is possible.

The possibilities available to a human being are constrained by:

biology,
history,
environment,
previous choices,
relationships,
social structures,
physical conditions,
chance,
and the choices of others.

Within these constraints, however, different trajectories remain possible.

Neoessential Integralism calls this structured domain:

The Field of Potential Realizations.

The word field here is initially philosophical and systemic.

It does not automatically mean a quantum field in the technical sense of physics.

It means the organized set of states and trajectories that may become realizable from the present configuration of a system.

Possibility Is Not Reality

This distinction is fundamental.

A possibility is not yet an event.

A dream is not yet a future.

An intention is not yet an outcome.

A probability is not a destiny.

For a possibility to become lived reality, conditions must converge.

We can represent this as:

Potential → Conditions → Choice → Action → Interaction → Consequence → Realization

Some of these variables belong to us.

Others do not.

This is why Neoessential Integralism rejects both extremes:

Everything is predetermined.

and

You create absolutely everything that happens to you.

Neither adequately describes human existence.

We participate in reality without possessing total control over it.

The Spiral and Repetition

Human beings often encounter recurring patterns.

The same kind of conflict.

The same fear.

The same attraction.

The same failure.

The same unresolved question.

But repetition alone does not prove a cosmic lesson.

It may arise from learned behaviour, attachment, environmental structure, unconscious expectation, social conditions, coincidence, or repeated choice.

The philosophical significance begins when the pattern becomes conscious.

Then:

Repetition → Recognition → Reflection → New Choice → Changed Trajectory

The event may resemble what came before.

But the person encountering it has changed.

This is the next coil.

The spiral does not promise that the past will not return. It asks whether the same past will find the same Self waiting for it.

The Past as Constraint — and Information

The past cannot simply be erased.

Every present configuration carries consequences of previous states.

Biologically.

Psychologically.

Socially.

Historically.

But influence is not identical with absolute determination.

The past can operate as:

constraint,
memory,
habit,
knowledge,
warning,
capacity,
or possibility.

Transformation changes its function.

This connects Principle 7 directly to Principle 13.

The past does not need to disappear for the future to change.

It needs to acquire a different place within the organization of the present.

The Future Already Participates in the Present

There is an intriguing asymmetry in human consciousness.

We remember the past.

But we can also represent futures that have not yet occurred.

A person can imagine:

a building before constructing it,

a journey before taking it,

a conversation before speaking,

a danger before encountering it,

a society that does not yet exist.

The imagined future can then alter present behaviour.

Therefore:

A future does not need to exist as an already completed physical world in order to exert causal influence through conscious representation.

The future can enter the present as a model.

The model changes intention.

Intention changes action.

Action changes conditions.

Conditions alter probability.

And probability can become event.

This gives Neoessential Integralism a scientifically defensible foundation for the philosophy of manifestation without claiming that imagination magically manufactures external reality.

The Stronger Neoessential Question

But the philosophy does not have to stop there.

It may legitimately ask:

Are possibilities merely representations generated by biological minds, or does possibility possess a deeper ontological structure within reality itself?

This is where metaphysics begins.

Neoessential Integralism proposes the possibility that reality contains a structured domain of unrealized states from which particular realizations emerge.

But it deliberately leaves open what the physical basis of such a domain might be.

We should therefore not write:

“The quantum field contains every possible version of your life.”

We can write:

Reality may contain more potential organization than any single realized state expresses.

That is philosophically much stronger.

DNA and the Field of Possibility

Here Principle 7 reconnects with our DNA model.

DNA does not specify every event that will happen to a person.

It participates in constructing a biological architecture possessing a range of possible developments.

Therefore:

Genome + regulation + development + environment + experience → range of possible biological realizations

Within the stronger Neoessential hypothesis:

Essence + compatible biological architecture + development + experience → range of possible Essential realizations

This is important.

An Essence would not enter life already completely finished.

Life would create possibilities for what it may become.

Thus reincarnation, if Essential Continuity eventually proves possible, would not be simple repetition.

It would be:

new localization → new architecture → new possibilities → new experience → further transformation of Essence.

Now the spiral has a genuine function in our system.

Free Will Inside the Spiral

Freedom is not the ability to choose anything whatsoever.

A person cannot choose outside all physical, biological, historical and social constraints.

But neither does constraint eliminate every alternative.

Neoessential freedom therefore means:

the capacity of a conscious system to participate in selecting among accessible trajectories.

The word accessible is crucial.

Freedom increases when the range of consciously available responses increases.

Trauma may narrow it.

Knowledge may widen it.

Fear may narrow it.

Experience may widen it.

Oppression may severely restrict it.

Relationship may open possibilities previously unavailable.

Thus freedom itself can develop.

How It Looks in Your Life — Pragmatic Application

When you encounter a situation that feels predetermined, separate three things:

What cannot presently be changed?

What might be changed but not controlled?

What can I directly choose now?

The first requires recognition of reality.

The second requires strategy.

The third requires action.

This prevents two opposite failures:

helpless fatalism and magical omnipotence.

The Neoessential position lies between them:

I do not control the Field. I participate in the trajectory.

Practice — The Next Coil

Draw a spiral.

At its center write one recurring problem.

At the first coil write:

What happened?

At the second:

What did I do?

At the third:

What do I understand now that I did not understand then?

At the fourth:

What response is available now that was unavailable before?

At the fifth:

What action would make this repetition genuinely different?

Then perform that action.

Because without action, the spiral remains a drawing.

The Serpent Returns — but Differently

The spiral and the serpent share one important philosophical idea:

continuity through transformation.

The serpent sheds its skin but remains identifiable as the same living organism.

The spiral returns without returning identically.

The Ouroboros joins beginning and end.

These images converge upon one question:

How can something change and nevertheless remain itself?

That question will become decisive when Neoessential Integralism reaches Informational Continuity.

Nehushtan and Ouroboros — A Necessary Distinction

The biblical Nehushtan and the Ouroboros should not be historically identified.

In the biblical tradition, the bronze serpent raised by Moses is associated with healing after serpent bites.

The Ouroboros is a different symbolic tradition: the serpent consuming or joining its own tail, commonly associated with cyclicity, renewal, self-reference, and continuity.

Neoessential Integralism can deliberately bring them together as a new philosophical synthesis:

Nehushtan represents the raising of what wounds into conscious relation.
Ouroboros represents continuity in which ending and beginning become structurally connected.

That is our interpretation.

And precisely because we say so openly, it becomes philosophy rather than invented archaeology.

An Important Correction: Poison Is Not Always Medicine

I would definitely remove:

“Every poison carries the exact code for its antidote.”

It is beautiful literature, but scientifically false.

Some toxic agents can have beneficial effects at sufficiently low exposures or under particular controlled conditions; the broader phenomenon of hormesis is real and context-dependent.

But many poisons do not contain their own antidote.

The stronger philosophical formulation is:

What wounds us may sometimes contain information that can participate in our healing — but suffering does not automatically contain its own cure.

This is also ethically safer.

Betrayal does not become good because someone eventually grows from it.

Violence does not become medicine because a survivor becomes stronger.

Transformation can create value from suffering without retroactively making suffering valuable.

That distinction belongs perfectly in Neoessential Ethics.

The Spine Is Not Nehushtan

Likewise, I would retain your posture practice but change its explanation.

Standing upright can affect breathing, muscular organization, perception and subjective state.

But the spinal column is not scientifically established as a staff through which a serpent-energy physically rises.

Therefore:

The spine is the embodied symbol of vertical organization, not proof of a hidden serpent mechanism.

This allows the ritual to remain beautiful.

Stand upright.

Breathe comfortably.

Imagine the movement from contraction toward greater organization.

But call the serpent symbolic visualization, not physiology.

How It Is Revealed Through the Saga

The Pact of the Two Snakes becomes particularly interesting under this interpretation.

It represents division that believes reality can only be organized through opposition and control.

Two sides require one another precisely because their identity has become dependent upon conflict.

The Neoessential solution is not that good and evil become indistinguishable.

That would be ethically dangerous.

Instead:

integration ends the need to construct identity through opposition while preserving the capacity to distinguish what heals from what destroys.

Melina therefore does not transcend morality.

She transcends fragmentation.

That distinction matters enormously.

The Seven Worlds

The seven worlds are seven realized possibilities.

Each develops one dimension until it becomes disproportionate.

Reason.

Feeling.

Unity.

Power.

Order.

Conflict.

Technology.

The Eighth Civilization does not erase them.

It becomes a new realization created from what their histories made possible.

Thus:

Seven failed realizations → information → integration → new possibility → Eighth realization

The Spiral is complete not because history stops.

It is complete because history becomes capable of producing something it could not produce before.

Scientific-Theoretical Foundation

The strongest scientific analogy comes not from quantum mechanics but from dynamical systems and complex systems.

Complex systems can possess multiple possible states or trajectories.

Feedback can stabilize patterns.

Small changes can sometimes alter trajectories.

History can constrain later possibilities.

Systems can reorganize after perturbation.

This does not prove metaphysical parallel realities.

But it gives us a rigorous conceptual language for:

state spaces, constraints, attractors, transitions, path dependence, feedback and emergence.

The Neoessential Hypothesis

The stronger proposition becomes:

The Field of Potential Realizations may represent not merely a cognitive model of possible futures, but a deeper relational structure of reality within which biological and conscious systems become locally actualized.

We do not yet specify that this structure is quantum.

That question remains open.

If future evidence identifies quantum mechanisms, the theory can incorporate them.

Research Question

The ordinary version predicts that changing perception, knowledge, available responses and behaviour should alter future trajectories.

That is testable.

The stronger version asks:

Does conscious organization correlate with external outcomes after known behavioural, communicative, sensory and statistical pathways have been adequately controlled?

If no residual effect exists, the strong hypothesis weakens.

If a reproducible residual effect exists, we first establish the anomaly.

Only then investigate mechanism.

Phenomenon first. Mechanism second. Metaphysical interpretation last.

Ethical Dimension

The Field of Possibilities does not make the individual responsible for every event.

But it does make the individual responsible for participation where genuine choice exists.

Therefore:

Freedom is not responsibility for everything that happens. Freedom is responsibility for what we do with the possibilities actually available to us.

And because our actions change other people's fields of possibility, freedom immediately becomes relational ethics.

A decision can open another person's future.

Or close it.

That prepares us directly for Principle 8: Transformative Relation.

The Principle in One Sentence

Existence unfolds through constrained possibilities, and conscious beings participate in transforming possibility into lived reality through awareness, choice, action, relationship, and adaptation.
